Freemasonry -- Placing Christians Into Spiritual Bondage And Darkness

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

The Holy Scriptures found in the Word of God tells us what is good, what is evil, what is light, and what is darkness.

The key verse is Isaiah 5:20. Someone is calling evil good, and put darkness for light. From the pattern of the words we know that good is associated with light and evil is associated with darkness. The scriptures make it clear that Light is Good and that Darkness is evil. (Isaiah 5:20) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

The Christian is told that he is no longer in darkness and are now light in the Lord. (Ephesians 5:8) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

The Christian is a child of the light. (1 Thessalonians 5:5) Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

The Lord Jesus Christ is our light. (1 John 1:5) This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

When a Christian walks in darkness he is no longer in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He is found a liar if he says otherwise. (1 John 1:6) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: One of the Judgments on Egypt (which is a type of the world) when the Pharaoh refused to let Israel go was to cast Egypt into total darkness. Israel was not placed in darkness and had light in their dwellings. (Exodus 10:21-23) And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. {22} And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: {23} They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings. In God's temple in the wilderness, the Lord wanted the candles in the Holy Place to shine continually so that there would never be any darkness. The children of Israel were told to bring pure olive oil for the burning of the lamps. (Leviticus 24:1-4) And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, {2} Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. {3} Without the veil of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations. {4} He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.

So what does this have to do with Freemasonry? In Freemasonry when one desires to become a Mason he goes through three initiation cermonies.

Every prospective must go thru an initiation process. During this process he is blindfolded, with a noose placed around his neck, and led, with a sword to their chest, into the inner room of the Masonic Lodge where they have an altar in the center of the room. Behind the altar there stands a man called "The Worshipful Master." Every Lodge is led by this so called Worshipful Master. He is the Master of the Lodge and presides over every initiation ceremony. The initiate Mason will bow down before "The Worshipful Master" and say the following verbatim, "I am lost in darkness, and I need the light of Freemasonry." After this declaration, the initiate is required to take his blood oath, and swears allegiance to the Lodge and pledges to protect and keep all of the secrets of Masonry. This blood oath, that he and every Mason before him who joined the Lodge goes like this, "Binding myself under no less a penalty than having my throat cut across, my tongue torn out by its roots, and buried in the rough sands of the sea…" This is not the only time he takes the Blood oath. As he progresses through the secrets and degrees of Freemasonry he repeats the Blood oath at each new degree he obtains.

A christian who goes through the intiations to become a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, degree Mason must during that process delcare that he is going from darkness to light. He even mentions he is "lost in darkness" He is, without realizing it, declaring that he is lost and in darkness and that he wants to come to the light of FreeMasonry. He is unaware that he has called evil good and has exchanged his light for darkness. He is actually doing the opposite of what the Bible tells him. He calls FreeMasonry good and light when it is in reallity evil and full of darkness. (Isaiah 5:20) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

THE MASONS PLACE THEIR SYMBOL ABOVE THE WORD OF GOD DURING THE INITIATION RITES.

This practice goes completely against the Holy Scriptures. We are told that the word of God is placed higher than the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In sole doing the word becomes our final authority. This is verified in the following verses.

(Psalms 138:2) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. (Philippians 2:10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

The journey into Freemasonry begins with what is called the Blue Lodge. These are the local chapters of Freemasonry found in towns throughout America. The Blue Lodge consists of 3 levels or degrees (1st entered apprentice degree; 2nd fellowcraft degree; 3rd master mason degree). At some time during this journey into Freemasonry the candidate for becoming a Mason must go through an initiation process where he is blindfolded, with a noose placed around his neck, and led, with a sword to his chest, into the inner room of the Lodge where an altar has a Bible with the compass and the square placed above the Bible itself. Standing behind the alter stands a man called "The Worshipful Master along with Three candles to give light to signify the candidate coming from darkness into light. He then gives the Blood Oath above and seals it with a kiss on the Bible and the symobls of Masonry which has been placed on top of the Bible. The initiate is going against the Holy Scriptures in the following manner.

They Declare they are lost and coming out of darkness to the light. This has already been covered

They bow down before the "Worshipful Master" -- First off the christian should notice is the word 'Worshipful'. Worship is only reserved for the Lord Our God. The Lord Jesus Christ quoted back to Satan when Satan desired worship the following scripture. (Matthew 4:8-10) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; {9} And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. {10} Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. The 'Master' title makes the initiate subjective to the Man behind the Altar. This man per his title reserves the right to be worshipped. He in effect is declaring that he is a substitute for God but is in reality a representative of the Angel of Light. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. {14} And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. {15} Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Freemasonry does not restrict what supreme being you believe in. In Freemasonry all you need is belief in a Supreme Being and it does not have to be the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact people of other beliefs can join Masonry and do not have to mention who the supreme being is. The Scriptures are very specific on the Lord Jesus Christ being the only way to salvation. This goes against everything Freemasonry stands for as it allows other gods and beliefes to substitute in place of the One way which is through The Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:10-12) Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. {11} This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. {12} Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. The mason who is deceived and believes he can get to Heaven by good works instead of the Lord Jesus Christ will forever be lost. (John 10:1-10) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. {2} But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. {3} To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. {4} And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. {5} And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. {6} This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. {7} Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. {8} All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. {9} I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. {10} The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I have seen where Freemasonry takes a foothold in a church, that soon the witnessing for salvation turns intead to a love your fellow man, help the poor, feed the hungry and ignor the "Ye must be born again" message. (John 3:1-7) There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: {2} The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. {3} Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. {4} Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? {5} Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. {6} That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. {7} Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Those that believe they can become better christians through Freemasonry are deceived because they have no knowledge of the truth. They believe in a form of godliness (FreeMasonry) but denying the power thereof. (2 Timothy 3:1-7) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. {2} For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, {3} Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, {4} Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; {5} Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. {6} For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, {7} Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The Christian who is a freemaon cannot server two masters. He must repent and leave Freemasonry and turn back to the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 6:24) No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

The Lord Jesus Christ has this to say about secret groups such as Freemasonry -- (Isaiah 55:6-9) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: {7} Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. {8} For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. {9} For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

(Acts 4:12) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

(Romans 10:9-13) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. {10} For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. {11} For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. {12} For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. {13} For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

(Colossians 1:14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
